1	Read out the variant coding of the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)	When replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10). Connect up STAR DIAGNOSIS and read in the data for the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) into STAR DIAGNOSIS. Installation:  Transfer stored data to the new ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10). STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnostic system
2	Turn key in ignition lock to position "0"	Vehicles with Keyless Go, code 889: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off.
3	Remove air filter housing		AR09.10-P-1150GZA
4	Move the shift interlocks for the electrical connectors at the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) towards the arrow and disconnect the electrical connectors from the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)
5	Pull ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) up and out of control unit brackets (1a, 1b)
6	Remove ball head support (2) from ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)	When replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).

7	Remove control unit bracket (1a, 1b) from resonance intake manifold if necessary		*BA07.08-P-1002-01A
8	Install in the reverse order
9	Perform sensor rotor adaptation using STAR DIAGNOSIS	When replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10). Menu guidance: Engine control module Adaptations Learning processes
10	Loosen transport protection for ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)	When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
11	Personalize and activate ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)	When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
	Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12	Carry out engine test run	When installing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) new.
