| Steering angle sensor (N49) and steering column module (N80) form one component and can only be replaced together where necessary | |||
| 1 | Remove clock spring contact | AR46.10-P-0200TX | |
| 2.1 | Remove bolt (1) | On vehicles up to 2.3.08 or without code (809) Model year 2009 | |
| 2.2 | Lift steering angle sensor (N49) over the guide pin | On vehicles as of 3.3.08 or with code (809) Model year 2009 |

| 3 | Unclip retaining lugs (a) of steering column module (N80) from carrier plate (5) | ||
| 4 | Pull out steering angle sensor (N49) from carrier plate (5) | ||
| To do so, carefully turn the inner race (2) of the steering angle sensor (N49) in a counterclockwise direction all the way to the limit stop. | |||
| Turn inner race (2) of steering angle sensor (N49) lightly up to the limit stop, as otherwise it may be damaged. | |||
| Finally, turn the inner race (2) through approx. two rotations in a clockwise direction, until the arrows on the steering angle sensor (N49) and inner race (2) line up. | |||
