MODEL 221.0 /1 with CODE (223) Rear bench seat with electrically adjustable outer seats with PRE-SAFE positioning function for outer seats and outer head restraints up to Model Year 8 Fondsitze

Function

Normalization is the assignment between the absolute adjustment position and the position detected by the rear seats control unit (N25/6). Normalization must be performed during initial start-up or in a denormalized condition.

Normalization procedure

The system has to move to the following positions:

To do this, operate the respective switch (S55/1s1, S55/1s2, S55/1s3, S55/1s5, S55/2s1, S55/2s2, S55/2s3 and S55/2s5) in the left rear seat operation switch group (S55/1) or in the right rear seat operation switch group (S55/2) for seat adjustment until the system has moved to the mechanical stop and hold depressed for another 250 ms.

If normalization is successful, the rear seats control unit switches off the corresponding motor (M18/15, M18/16, M18/17, M18/18, M18/19, M18/20, M27/11 and M28/11).

Denormalization

An adjustment is denormalized:
