Location

The pneumatic pump for multicontour seat (M40) is located under the reservoir on the left-hand side of the trunk in the direction of travel at the front of the trunk behind the trim.

Tasks

Compressed air supply of multicontour seat system
Compressed air supply for retractable rear head restraints (RHR [KAF]) system (only vehicles without code (223) Rear bench seat with electrically adjustable outer seats with PRE-SAFE positioning function for outer seats and outer head restraints)
Pressure monitoring of the reservoir by means of a sensor
Leakage detection of pneumatic systems
Automatic shut off of compressed air supply after 60 sec continuous operation of pneumatic pump for the multicontour seat
Overpressure run of air-operated system, for draining compression moisture in composite pressure vessel through a pressure relief valve mounted on the container
Actuation of the solenoid valve to expel compression moisture in the composite pressure vessel
Compressed air supply solenoid switch on/off

Evaluation of input factors

The read in input factors are evaluated by the pneumatic pump for multicontour seat. Actuation of the electric motor in the pneumatic pump for multicontour seat occurs accordingly.

The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:

Actuation of the solenoid valve to expel compression moisture in the composite pressure vessel

No components are actuated via the interior CAN by the pneumatic pump for multicontour seat. Only information on further processing steps for other control units is sent to the interior CAN.
