The K3 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) is actuated by the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit and influences the position of the K3. regulating valve. The pressure in the K3 multi-disk clutch depends on the position of the regulating valve and thus on the geometry of the K3 regulating valve. The K3 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) has a lowering characteristic. This means that the oil pressure applied in the regulating valve K3 reduces as the actuation current increases. In limp-home mode of the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) all the control solenoid valves are de-energized. The K3 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) thus supplies maximum pressure.

Body

In the K3 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) a proportional solenoid converts the electrical signals from the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4). The float needle can also be moved into intermediate positions as a result.

Function

The K3 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) assigns a proportional pressure to the current which is controlled by the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit.
