- Status Circuit 30 ON or Circuit 15R ON

- The radio is authorized and in perfect working order

General 

The radio (A2) is the central operating unit for the entertainment and communication systems integrated into the vehicle. The audio system consists of the following subfunctions which are described in separate documents:

- Volume/tone settings function 

- Audio mode, function 

- Display compass function (with code (245) Electronic compass) 

Information about telephone operation can be found in the separate mobile telephone system description.

The radio (with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer) communicates with the following control units via Media Oriented System Transport (MOST):

- Media interface control unit (N125/1) (with code (518) Media interface)

- Amplifier for sound system (N40/3) (with code (810) Sound system)

- Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit (N87/3) (with code (537) Digital radio)

The radio (with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer) acts as a gateway. It routes the signals from the interior CAN (CAN B) to the components of the telematics CAN (CAN A) and the MOST and thus forms the communications interface.

For vehicles with code (523) MB Audio 20 radio a MOST is not used.
