The clutch control solenoid valve K3 (VGS) (Y3/8y4) is actuated by the fully integrated transmission control unit (VGS) (Y3/8n4) and influences the position of the regulating valve K3. The pressure in the multidisk clutch K3 depends on the regulating valve position and therefore on the geometry of the regulating valve K3
The K3 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) (Y3/8y4) has a lowering characteristic. This means that the oil pressure applied in the working pressure regulating valve reduces as the actuating current increases. In limp-home mode of the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) all the control solenoid valves are de-energized. The K3 clutch control solenoid valve (VGS) (Y3/8y4) thus supplies maximum pressure.
