Remove/install power steering pump - AR46.30-P-0500TX

MODEL 219 with ENGINE 272, 273

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.   AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Before opening the hydraulic system of the power steering, thoroughly clean the area surrounding the separation point. Even minute particles of dirt, introduced into the hydraulic components, can result in malfunctions or damage to the power steering    
1 Open engine hood and raise to vertical position   AR88.40-P-1000TX
2 Remove poly-V belt   AR13.20-P-0001TS
3 Remove front engine cover    
4 Remove left engine intake air duct upstream of air filter    
5 Extract oil from power steering reservoir (1) SPECIAL TOOL Figure
6 Detach return line (3) from reservoir (1) of power steering IMPORTANT Use a rag to clear up any escaping oil and seal the line connections using stop plugs SPECIAL TOOL .

7 Undo screws (9) for front cover on cylinder head TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1016-01G 
8 Release clip (10)    
9 Remove reservoir (1) of power steering from power steering pump (2) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring.  
10 Detach pressure line (4) of power steering from power steering pump (2), to do so undo banjo bolt (5) IMPORTANT Collect oil which runs out with rags and seal line connections
SPECIAL TOOL with stop plugs.
 
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring. Figure
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1001-01G 
11 Detach plug (12) from power steering pump pressure regulator valve (Y10/1)    
12 Detach power steering pump (2) from timing case cover; to do so, remove bolts (11) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1011-01G 
13 Raise vehicle   AR00.60-P-1000TX
14 Remove bolts (6), disconnect refrigerant compressor connector (A9x1) and remove refrigerant compressor (A9) from timing case cover and engine support Engine 272
IMPORTANT Put down refrigerant compressor (A9) with pipe system connected towards the radiator.
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA83.55-P-1001-01M 
15 Detach ground line from power steering pump (2) by unscrewing bolt (7) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1015-01G 
16 Remove screw (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1011-01G 
17 Raise vehicle   AR00.60-P-1000TX
18 Take out power steering pump (2) IMPORTANT On engine 273, take power steering pump (2) out upwards.  
19 Install in the reverse order    
20 Fill and bleed power steering pump (2)   AR46.30-P-0010TX 
21 Check function of power steering and for leaks
