Remove/Install Ashtray Housing From Front Center Console

Remove/Install 

  1. 1.1 -  On vehicles without code (423a) Automatic 5-gear transmission (NAG), move gearshift lever to furthest position to the rear.
  2. 1.2 -  On vehicles with code (423a) Automatic 5-gear transmission (NAG), move selector lever to position "D".
  3. 2 -  Disconnect battery ground cable. See DISCONNECT/CONNECT BATTERY'S GROUND CABLE .
  4. 3 -  Open ashtray (1). See Fig 1.
  5. 4 -  Unclip center console cover (2) in the direction of the arrow out of center console.
  6. 5 -  Pull ashtray (1) out of center console until electrical connectors (3, 4) are accessible.
    NOTE: Electrical connectors (3) only on vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go.
  7. 6.1 -  On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go, separate electrical plug connection (3).
  8. 7 -  Disconnect electrical connector (4) at illuminated cigar lighter (R3) and remove ashtray (1).
  9. 8.1 -  On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go, unclip passenger compartment module keyless go control module (N103) from ashtray (1).
  10. 9 -  Install in the reverse order.
