Operating procedure

Basic requirements:

  1. Voltage is applied over the switching contact of the stop lamp switch (S9/1) to circuit 54 on the ESP and BAS control module (N47-5) and the electronic ignition switch control module (N73) is switched.

IMPORTANT The stop lamp switch (S9/1) not applicable as of 1.8.01. The stop lamp signal is generated directly in the ESP and BAS control module (N47-5).

  2. The electronic ignition switch control module (N73) converts the voltage signal and reports to the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) over the CAN interior "stop lamp ON".

IMPORTANT The direct line from the ESP and BAS control module to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) should prevent any delayed switching on of the stop lamp (E3e4 and E4e4).

  3. The voltage signal is sent from the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) over another direct line to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2). Up to 1.8.01 the ESP and BAS control module (N47-5) will also send the voltage signal parallel for the stop lamp switch (S9/1) over a direct line to the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
  4. The rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the stop lamp (E3/4 and E4/4) and the center high-mounted stop lamp (E21).
