High Pressure Pump/Return Pump

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 26 other vehicles, including the 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK230, 1999 Mercedes-Benz ML430, 1999 Mercedes-Benz ML320, 1999 Mercedes-Benz E430, and 1999 Mercedes-Benz E320. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

High pressure pumps/return pumps, combined into the hydraulic unit, are used for ASR V or ESP pressure supply and for recirculation of brake fluid during ABS, ASR V or ESP control. Silencers are built into each brake circuit to dampen delivery noise. Low pressure accumulator accommodates brake fluid returning during ABS/ASR/ESP/ETS pressure reduction phase and delivers it to high pressure pumps/return pumps.
