Raising/lowering rear head restraints, function - GF91.16-P-2002S
MODEL 215
MODEL 220 with CODE (223b) Electrically adjustable rear bench seat
MODEL 220 with CODE (224c) Electrically adjustable rear bucket seats, with seat ventilation, seat heater and memory package
Raising and lowering rear head restraint
Function prerequisites
- Voltage not too low or too high
- C.15 ON (When actuated from the front with the switch in the upper control panel control module)
- C. 15R ON (When actuated via the rear door control module)
This operation is accomplished pneumatically via pressure control (raising) or vacuum control (lowering/putting down).
Function via rear head restraint switch (N72/1s4) in upper control panel control module (N72/1)
Lowering/putting down:
When the bottom half of the switch is pressed the PSE control module (combined) (A37) receives the message to lower the left and right rear head restraints and put down the center rear head restraint via the CAN bus. It then actuates first the right head restraint up valve (Y24/5) , then the left head restraint up valve (Y24/4) and finally the center head restraint up valve (Y24/6) . The head restraints are thereby lowered/put down one after another.
Raising:
The left and right rear head restraints, however, not the center rear head restraint can be put up by pressing the upper half of the switch. Actuation is accomplished analog to lowering the rear head restraints.
Model 220 only:
Function with left rear door control module (N69/3)/right rear door control module (N69/4):
Lowering:
If the head restraint adjustment raise/lower switch (N69/3s8)/(N69/4s8) is pressed at the bottom the PSE control module (combined) (A37) receives via the CAN bus the message to lower the left/right rear head restraint and actuate the left head restraint up valve (Y24/4)/right head restraint up valve (Y24/5) . The left/right head restraint is lowered.
Raising:
The left/right rear head restraint can be put up by pressing the switch (N693s8)/(N69/4s8) at the top. Actuation is accomplished analog to lowering the rear head restraints.
Model 215 only:
Function with rear control module (N22/6):
Lowering:
If the bottom half of the rear head restraint raise/lower switch (S52/5) is pressed, the PSE control module (combined) (A37) receives the CAN message to lower the left/right rear head restraint from the rear control module (N22/6) and actuates the left head restraint up valve (Y24/4)/right head restraint up valve (Y24/5) . The left/ right head restraint is lowered.
Raising:
The left/right rear head restraint can be put up by pressing the upper half of the rear head restraint raise/lower switch (S52/5) . Actuation is accomplished analog to lowering the rear head restraints.
