The overhead control panel control unit (N70) has the following purpose:

• Control of dimming functions of the inside rearview mirror (A67) and the outside rearview mirror
• Control of light functions of the interior lights
• Reading of integral switches and sensors:
  • Sliding/tilting roof switch (N70s1)
  • Rear dome lamp switch (N70s2)
  • Dome lamp switch (N70s3)
  • Left front reading lamp switch (N70s6)
  • Right front reading lamp switch (N70s7)
  • In-car temperature sensor (N70b1)
• Reading of sensors (on the windshield):
  • Rain sensor (B38)
  • Automatic light switch daylight sensor (B32/1)
  • Rain/light sensor (B38/2), as of 9/1/02
• Sliding roof actuation
• Reading data of the rear window antenna amplifier module (A2/12) and transmitting data on CAN interior
• Actuation of the integral front dome lamp (N70e1)
• Reading and actuating of components of the inside rearview mirror unit (A67):
  • Left reading lamp (A67e1)
  • Right reading lamp (A67e2)
  • Ambient lamp (A67e3)
  • Sensor for automatic dimming mirror, forward(A67h1)
  • Sensor for automatic dimming mirror, backward (A67h2)
  • Motor vertical adjustment (A67m1)
