DTC Description
- Fault Memory & Actuation Of MIL - After duration of test has elapsed and fault. MIL is turned on after 2 consecutive driving cycles with fault.
- Frequency Of Testing - Once per driving cycle.
- Checked Signal Or Status - Pressure values of fuel tank pressure sensor.
- Superficial Leak Test - Vacuum build-up of approximately 0.4 mbar per second is not reached.
- Detailed Leak Test - Vacuum reduction with a closed system is more that approximately 15 percent of the vacuum reached on the superficial leak test.
- Duration Of Test - Approximately 30 seconds.
- Test Conditions - Engine idling, vehicle stationary, disable time elapsed after engine has started (approximately 16 minutes) or mixture adaptation has taken place, lambda control enabled, secondary air injection inactive, no test carried out above an altitude of approximately 8203 feet (2500 meters), slight loading of activated charcoal canister, lambda more that 0.9 during the test, initial leak test is only carried out at a fuel level less than 1/4 or more than 3/4, if fuel is excessively sloshing around in the fuel tank (sudden changes in pressure), this is recognized by the fuel tank pressure sensor (B4/3) and the test is terminated, no fault in activated charcoal canister shutoff, no fuel tank pressure sensor fault, no fuel level sensor fault and no fault in purge control valve function (opening/closing).
NOTE:
Fault code P0455 is set if fuel tank pressure sensor (B4/3) is defective.
