Test 7: Trunk Lid Microswitch

  1. Connect Hand-Held tester (HHT) to diagnostic connector. Select ROTARY TUMBLER/TRUNK LID MICROSWITCH on HHT display. Monitor readings. Insert key in trunk lock and rotate to unlock position. Lights should come on and ON should be displayed on HHT. Rotate key to lock position. OFF should be displayed. If system does not operate as specified, go to next step.
  2. Connect harness adapter and breakout box to anti-theft control module connector. Measure voltage between terminals No. 1 and 26 at breakout box. Insert key in trunk lock and rotate to unlock position. Battery voltage should be indicated. Rotate key to lock position. Reading should be approximately one volt. If voltage is not as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Check trunk lock switch.
