Seat belt lock system, function - GF91.40-P-2001A
MODEL 215 up to 31.8.02
Electromechanical locking system in the driver's/front passenger's emergency tensioning retractor unit
Seat belt lock system, front seats
The emergency tensioning retractor units have a new belt locking system controlled via solenoids, in which the belt pull out locks or does not lock depending on the vehicle acceleration and vehicle angle
When the solenoids (4) are actuated a magnetic field is generated. This causes the permanent magnet (3) to be repelled by the locking lever (2). The locking lever meshes with the gearing in the clutch disk (1) and thus blocks the emergency tensioning retractor unit's reel shaft.
Conditions of operation Circuit 15R ON
The vehicle-sensitive seatbelt lock sensor (A60) is, via the left front seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/1) and right front seat adjustment control module with memory, (N32/2) in contact with the seat belt lock solenoid for the left front seat and for the right front seat integrated in the respective emergency tensioning retractor unit (Y96Y96/1).
If the vehicle acceleration exceeds the value of 0.45 g or the vehicle angle is > 27°, the sensor actuates the solenoids via the seat control modules and belt pull out is locked.
In addition to this the two seat control modules constantly receive, over two discrete lines, a constant (life-beat) signal from the sensor and thus recognize immediately if a fault has occurred in the electromagnetic actuator control circuits.
