Multifunction sensor function - GF83.10-P-2135-02I
Function
The multifunction sensor records the humidity, the ambient temperature and the pollutant concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) of the outside air. From the first two values it calculates the dew point and transmits this with the other values to the AAC pushbutton control module via the A/C bus. By means of this sensor an A/C compressor control to suit demand is permitted as a function of humidity.
Control of fresh air/recirculated air flap via the multifunction sensor
Conditions:
- Outside temperature >7 °C
- Activated charcoal filter button (
illuminated)
If the actual pollutant concentration outside the vehicle determined by the multifunction sensor is above an assumed mean interior air quality, a signal is sent to the pushbutton control module via the air conditioning bus which switches the system to 100% recirculated air. As soon as the pollutant concentration outside the vehicle is below the assumed mean interior air quality again, the system is run with fresh air again (exceptions: recirculated air operated manually: automatic recirculated air due to high outside temperature).
