  Charge air temperature sensor position In the inlet manifold before the actuator for the throttle flap  
  Charge air temperature sensor task Measuring the charge air temperature. The signal is used (together with the signal for the inlet manifold pressure) to calculate the air mass passing through.
In addition, the charge air temperature sensor (B17/8) monitors the operation of the charge air cooling system.
 
  Charge air temperature sensor function The NTC resistor integrated in the charge air temperature sensor (B17/8) alters its ohmic resistance in line with the charge air temperature.
