MCS with Navigation Software 1.40 Upgrade

SERVICE INFORMATION

If you encounter instances of poor navigation positioning in higher altitudes (vehicle drifts off of roads on map screen or poor re-route calculation) on model year 2000 and 2001 M-Class vehicles, please update the MCS navigation with Service CD SW 1.40. Dealers will receive the Service CD with 1.40 SW during the week of August 20, 2001.

To update MCS, please do the following:

Start engine.
NOTE: Do not turn engine off during update process.
Turn on MCS, open CD access door and remove current Navigation CD.
Install Ver 1.40 Service CD into Navi CD ROM drive.
Close door.
Unit will update automatically. Time to update is less than 2 minutes.
NOTE: Do not interrupt CD update once it has started.
When CD update is complete MCS will reboot automatically and a new logo screen will appear.
Remove the update CD and reinstall the customer Navigation CD.
Please do not leave update CD in customer vehicle.
