Headlamp switch-off delay, function - GF80.20-P-2003GH

MODEL 163.136 /157 /172 as of 1.9.01

The headlamp switch-off delay function is used for illuminating the surrounding area, after exiting the vehicle, using the vehicle lighting (park lamps, tail lamps, license plate lamps and fog lamps) for a time interval that can be set in the instrument cluster (A1).

IMPORTANT The time interval can be set in increments of 15 s from 0 s to 60 s.

Function prerequisites

Operational sequence:

If the function prerequisites are present the headlamp delayed switch-off feature is active for 60 s (this time is independent of time intervals set in the instrument cluster (A1)).

Opening a door (or trunk lid) starts the time (t=60 s) again (this applies to every opening operation within the time period (t=60 s)). When the last door is closed, the time interval selected in the instrument cluster (A1) is activated.

Interruption function (discrete exit)

By switching the ignition on and off (circuit 15), the headlamp switch-off delay function is disabled until the next function prerequisite.

IMPORTANT If an alarm of the anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is deployed, the headlamp switch-off delay is also interrupted.

Disabling function:

The headlamp switch-off delay is disabled by setting the time interval to "0 s" in the instrument cluster (A1) or to "0" position of the exterior lamp switch
