Triggering logic procedure
The triggering strategy of the SRS system with the airbag control module (N2/7) in the event of a crash is determined by the following input parameters:
- Head-on collision (1st, 2nd, 3rd threshold)
- Side-impact collision (1st threshold)
- Rear end collision (1st, 2nd threshold)
- Rollover (1st, 2nd, 3rd threshold)
- Switching states of buckles if the buckle query has been programmed
- Passenger seat occupancy status, recorded by passenger seat occupied recognition sensor with automatic child seat recognition (B48),
- National versions of the vehicle
If the buckle query has been programmed (only
version) the driver/passenger airbag is activated when the 1st triggering threshold is exceeded in case of a head-on collision if the relevant latch is not inserted into the buckle. In addition, there are different deployment conditions for the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. If the buckle query has not
been programmed, the driver/passenger airbag is not activated until the 2nd triggering threshold has been exceeded.
In the event of a side-impact collision the front side airbag, the rear side airbag (SA) and the window airbag (SA) on the affected side are activated (exception: If the passenger seat is not
occupied, the side airbag on the passenger side does not
deploy).
Occupancy status of passenger seat occupied recognition sensor with automatic child seat recognition (B48)
Seat Occupancy Sensor (SBE) Active:
Seat not occupied
- Passenger seat not occupied
- Child seat without transponder installed (weight less than 12 kg over a 120 mm diameter circle) ø
Seat occupied:
- Front passenger seat occupied (weight less than 12 kg over a 120 mm diameter circle) ø
Automatic child seat recognition (ACSR) Active:
Child seat detected:
- Permissible, control module-coded MB-child seat with transponder
Child seat not detected:
- No permissible MB-child seat with transponder
- Permissible MB-child seat with transponder, but not control module-coded
Alignment incorrect:
- Permissible MB-child seat with transponder not correctly installed or defective (e.g. only one resonator detected)
The Child Seat Detected signal is superimposed on the Seat Occupied signal
(if the child seat exceeds a weight of 12 kg over a 120 mm diameter circle. ø)
