Installation & Adjustment

  1. Replace sealing ring. If camshaft position sensor is being replaced, go to next step. If camshaft position sensor is not being replaced, to install, reverse removal procedure.
  2. Rotate crankshaft until camshaft gear segment and camshaft position sensor are positioned opposite each other. Using a feeler gauge, measure gap between camshaft position sensor and camshaft gear segment. See Fig 1 .
  3. Allowable gap is .016-.024" (.4-.6 mm). If adjustment is necessary, shims are available in thicknesses from .004-.040" (0.1-1.0 mm) in graduations of .004" (.1 mm).
  4. After adjustment, to complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
