Operation
With the selector lever and the transmission mode switch (S16/5) on the floor shift it is possible to adapt the automatic gearshift sequence to suit specific operating conditions.
The shift range can be changed in the forward gears while driving, but the electronic transmission control prevents shifting if the engine speed is too high.
When the transmission mode switch (S16/5) is in position "W" (winter mode), a lower overall ratio and thus a lower drive torque is available when moving off forwards and in reverse. This allows the vehicle to move off more gently. In addition, the gears are not driven to maximum revs.
