Removal & Installation

Remove cam cover. Remove camshaft position sensor. For installation, reverse removal procedure. Replace sealing ring. Rotate crankshaft until camshaft gear segment and camshaft position sensor are opposite each other. Using a feeler gauge, measure gap between gear segment and position sensor. Clearance should be .016-.024" (.4-.6 mm), adjustable with shims available in graduations from .016-.040" (0.1-1.0 mm).
