Retrieving Codes
NOTE:
During Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) retrieval, CHECK ENGINE
light will illuminate continuously.
- Turn ignition off. Perform PRETEST CONDITIONS procedures. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . If diagnosing vehicle using a generic scan tool, connect generic scan tool to data link connector (X11/22) located under driver's side dash board. See Fig 1.
- If diagnosing vehicle using Hand-Held Tester (HHT) (965 589 00 01 00), connect Multiplexer Cable (965 589 00 40 00) to HHT. Ensure ignition is off. Connect multiplexer cable to data link connector (X11/4) located in right rear corner of engine compartment. See Fig 2. Turn ignition on. Record all fault codes. See appropriate code identification in the FAULT CODE IDENTIFICATION TABLE .
