Test 21: Convenience Switch Circuit

  1. Using Adapter (202 589 03 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to convenience control module. See Figure . Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 and 18 at breakout box. When all door and trunk locks are at rest, battery voltage should exist. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, check the following and repair as necessary:
    • Check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
    • Check left door lock switch
    • Check right door lock switch
    • Check trunk lid lock switch
    • Replace pneumatic system equipment control module.
    • Replace convenience control module.
  2. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 and 18 at breakout box. Using key, turn left front door lock to UNLOCK position and hold. If less than one volt exists, go to next step. If greater than one volt exists, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace left front door lock switch.
  3. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 and 18 at breakout box. Using key, turn right front door lock to UNLOCK position and hold. If less than one volt exists, go to next step. If greater than one volt exists, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace right front door lock switch.
  4. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 and 18 at breakout box. Using key, turn trunk lid lock to UNLOCK position and hold. If less than one volt exists, go to next step. If greater than one volt exists, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace trunk lid lock switch.
  5. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 and 22 at breakout box.
  6. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 and 22 at breakout box. Using key, turn left front door lock to LOCK position and hold. If less than one volt exists, go to next step. If greater than one volt exists, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace left front door lock switch.
  7. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 and 22 at breakout box. Using key, turn right front door lock to LOCK position and hold. If less than one volt exists, go to next step. If greater than one volt exists, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace right front door lock switch.
  8. Measure voltage between terminals No. 2 and 22 at breakout box. Using key, turn trunk lid lock to LOCK position and hold. If less than one volt exists, go to next step. If greater than one volt exists, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If wiring is okay, replace trunk lid lock switch.
