Test Preparation
CAUTION:
To avoid damaging control modules all electrical testing should be done with a DVOM. DO NOT use an analog meter or test light to check control module circuits.
NOTE:
As of 9/89 introduction of new features and up to approximately middle of 9/89, anti-lockout device is rendered inoperative on models 124 sedan and coupe with tilting/sliding roof and/or electric power windows.
NOTE:
After completing repair work and prior to testing, disconnect ground cable to battery for approximately 10 seconds to neutralize fault current detection of supply pump.
Ensure battery voltage is 11-14 volts. Check fuses "A", "G" and "H" in fuse box No. 1. Check fuses No. 1, 2 and 9 in fuse box No. 1. All voltage checks are to be done with ignition switch in ON position. If problem is found, repair as necessary. If problem is not found, continue diagnosis. See SYMPTOM INDEX .
