Ignition Timing Control

CIS-E control unit provides information for EZL timing control. Timing information is based on signals from crankshaft position indicator (TD unit), which is an AC-generating sensor mounted on the bellhousing.

AC-generating sensor detects movement of 3 notches (4 on V8 engines) on flexplate or flywheel. Sensor supplies EZL module with information to determine piston position. Distributor is fully electronic.
