Oxygen Sensor

Oxygen sensor is heated to control operating temperature. Based on voltage signals from oxygen sensor, the ECU controls fuel mixture in an attempt to maintain 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio. If oxygen sensor failure is present, check engine light illuminates, indicating malfunction code is stored in ECU.
