Steering Column: Installation

Always use new steering wheel Allen screws when installing steering wheel. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Refer to the TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.

1. Replace bearings and races as necessary. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Check steering shaft adjustment.
2. Ensure pin inserted through hole in jacket casing is located in bore of steering shaft. Mark on end of shaft should be up when installing.
3. Steering shaft length should be 31.7" (805 mm). Tap gently with soft mallet to adjust length before installation. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
