CONCLUSION OF SERVICE MODIFICATION PROGRAM

The Tempmatic climate control modification program will officially end on July 31, 1989. After that date, Zone authorization must be obtained before the start of modification work; this provision will allow for handling of any special cases remaining open. Further work under this program must, however, be handled under new Damage Codes and Time Allowances recalculated to reflect repair time allowances rather than modification time allowances. Damage code 8394037, used once per car under the program, is no longer valid and will not be accepted as of August 1, 1989.

The following are the new damage codes and time allowances applicable for the remainder of the modification program:

PARTS RETURN FOR CREDIT

To assist dealers, excess parts inventory of the complete hose assembly (part no. 102 130 51 57 05), shielding (part no. 201 505 30 86 05), and encapsulation kits (part no. 201 520 60 23 05) can be returned for credit through 8/31/89. Dealers are advised to review their stock level accordingly.

REPAIR OPERATIONS

To avoid the necessity of replacement of the complete hose assembly, part number 102 130 51 57 05, repairs affecting the high-pressure hose segment of this assembly must be made using a replacement hose, part number 102 130 55 57. Accordingly, credit will be issued for replacement of the high-pressure hose only, and claims should be filed using the damage code and time allowance given below:
