Retractable Hardtop Control Module Removal/Installation
CAUTION:
- If the retractable hardtop control module is replaced with a new one, perform the configuration after replacing it.
- If configuration is not performed, the system does not operate normally.
- Using the retractable hardtop switch, keep the front roof half-open.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Selector lever knob (AT) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift lever knob (MT)
- Shift panel assembly (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Parking brake lever boot panel (See PARKING BRAKE LEVER BOOT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Wind blocker (See WIND BLOCKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front seat back bar garnish (See SEAT BACK BAR GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Quarter trim (See QUARTER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Tire house trim (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Back trim (See BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the nut.
- Remove the cable case from the retractable hardtop control module and set it aside so that it does not interfere with the servicing.
- Remove the bolts.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the retractable hardtop control module.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- When replacing the retractable hardtop control module, perform the retractable hardtop control module configuration using the M-MDS.
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
- Perform the following procedure using the M-MDS.CAUTION:
- If the configuration fails, perform the configuration again.
- Press [Start] for the vehicle identification.
- Press the [Toolbox] tab.
- Press the [Work Support] icon.
- Press [Configuration].
- Press [Run] for [Configuration].
- Press [Other].
- Perform the servicing following the instructions on the screen.CAUTION:
- When performing the configuration, CAN communication is cut temporarily and communication error DTCs may be detected. After performing the configuration, perform the DTC inspection and clear DTCs if any are displayed.
- Perform the DTC inspection. (Refer to [DTC INSPECTION
] in the troubleshooting information)
- If a DTC is displayed, clear it. (Refer to [CLEARING DTC
] in the troubleshooting information)
- If the DTC is displayed again, repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
- If a DTC is displayed, clear it. (Refer to [CLEARING DTC
] in the troubleshooting information)
- If the configuration fails, perform the configuration procedure again.
