- This content is subordinate to the service information(s) and describes practical vehicle malfunction diagnosis procedures. This content is divided into the following 3 categories.
On-board diagnostic system:
- Basic knowledge on malfunction diagnosis and malfunction diagnosis information according to DTCs.
Symptom troubleshooting:
- Malfunction diagnosis information according to malfunction symptoms for which no DTCs are displayed.
Work support:
- Work information using the M-MDS.
- This content is inclusive of information on multiple vehicle models/markets. Because this content also includes information on parts and functions that are not available for specific vehicles, unnecessary descriptions for vehicle specifications are treated as reference information.
How to View Malfunction Diagnosis Information
- Proceed with the malfunction diagnosis according to the [TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE]. (See TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE .)
- Use the following procedure to verify the information(s) you arrive at as a result of the [TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE].
NOTE:
- There are the following 3 types of data/information formats.
- Type A: Go to the malfunction diagnosis following the inspection/action procedure.
- Type B: Complex items including separate malfunction diagnosis processes.
- Type C: Other than the above.
