With Telematics Communication System: Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Scuff plate (passenger's side) (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Front side trim (passenger's side) (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. A-pillar trim (passenger's side) (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Center panel No. 2 (See CENTER PANEL No. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Meter hood (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Center display (See CENTER DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the bolts.

  4. Cut off the tape shown in the figure.

  5. Disconnect the connector.

  6. Remove the telematics communication unit and bracket as a single unit. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT COMPONENT INSTALLATION NOTE .)
  7. Remove the screws.

  8. Remove the telematics communication unit.
  9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  10. If the telematics communication unit is replaced, perform the procedure after the telematics communication unit replacement.
