DTC U3000-49: Vehicle Control Module (VCM) Internal Malfunction

U3000-49: (VCM) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Vehicle control module (VCM) internal malfunction
Detection condition
  • The vehicle control module (VCM) detects any of the following malfunctions.
    • Vehicle control module (VCM) internal malfunction
    • Power supply circuit malfunction
Fail-safe (See DTC TABLE [VCM] .)
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between battery and body control module (BCM) (Without i-ELOOP) (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between body control module (BCM) and body ground (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  3. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between battery and DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) (With i-ELOOP) (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  4. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) and body control module (BCM) (With i-ELOOP) (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  5. DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) malfunction (With i-ELOOP) (Refer to applicable [INSPECTION] in service information.)
  6. Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built-into body control module (BCM)) (Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)

2 With i-ELOOP
3 Without i-ELOOP
4 DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP)
5 Body control module (BCM)
