DTC U0420-00: Electric Power Steering (EPS) Control Module (Steering Angle Signal)

U0420: 00 (SGC2/DMCM (WITH MAZDA M HYBRID BOOST)) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location	Electric power steering (EPS) control module (steering angle signal) Communication error with electric power steering (EPS) control module Error signal received from electric power steering (EPS) control module
Detection condition	The drive motor control module detects that the electronically controlled brake unit stores the following DTCs. C0051: 25 C0051: 62 C0051: 64 C0051: 67 C0051: 84 C0051: 85 C0051: 86 U0131: 00 U0420: 68
Fail-safe	Not applicable
Possible cause	DTCs are stored in the electronically controlled brake unit. (See DTC TABLE [DSC] .) NOTE: If the electronically controlled brake unit stores a DTC, the drive motor control module stores the same DTC or similar. If the drive motor control module stores a DTC even though the electronically controlled brake unit does not store a DTC, clear the DTC as it was for a past malfunction, and then complete the repair.
Repeatability verification procedure	Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
