Check Sheet A : Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 Mazda CX-30. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Input specifics on how the brake pedal depression feels.
      Depression feel Possible cause
    G16371376Courtesy of MAZDA MOTORS CORP.
    □ c. Clearly stiff when first starting pedal depression Normal: System transition mode when electronically controlled brake unit is activated
    □ d. Slightly stiff when first starting pedal depression Electronically controlled brake unit malfunction, temporary loss of effectiveness
    □ e. Becomes stiff halfway through pedal depression Foreign matter caught behind pedal, Normal: System transition mode when electronically controlled brake unit is activated
    □ i. Other () 1 Pedaling force
    2 Pedal stroke
    3 Normal
    NOTE:
    • Normally, greater force is required to depress the brake pedal as it is being depressed. (Brake pedal depression gradually gets stiffer and stiffer)
  2. If possible, we ask the customer to step on the brake pedal using the indicated vehicle. Does the feel of the brake pedal depression recur while the engine is idling?
    Repeatability/no repeatability Verification result Action
    □ Recur Insufficient negative pressure supply, negative pressure leakage, or excessive negative pressure consumption Method of handling according to the inquiry results: To insufficient negative pressure supply, negative pressure leak, negative pressure drop
    □ Not recur Negative pressure supply is normal Go to inquiry (3)
    □ Difficulty of coping
  3. Stop the engine and depress the brake pedal several times to exhaust the negative pressure in the power brake unit. After that, ask the customer to depress the brake pedal and check if it is similar to the hard condition of the brake pedal as the customer pointed out. (In this case, the feeling of depression of the brake pedal is the state c.)
    Repeatability/no repeatability Verification result Action
    □ Alike Insufficient negative pressure supply, negative pressure leakage, or excessive negative pressure consumption Method of handling according to the inquiry results: To insufficient negative pressure supply, negative pressure leak, negative pressure drop
    □ It's not so hard. Negative pressure supply is normal There may be a temporary negative pressure or a decrease in the effectiveness of the brake. In order to confirm the details, please carry out all following questions.
  4. When you felt that the brake didn't work, did you feel something wrong with the engine rotation?
    □ The engine rotation was normal
    □ Engine speed increased: Negative pressure decreased from about () rpm to about () rpm.
    □ Engine speed decreased: Negative pressure decreased from about () rpm to about () rpm.
    □ Engine stalled/has stalled: Pumping brake after engine stall reduces negative pressure
  5. Right before you feel that the brake just before you feel that the brake doesn't work?
    □ Not performed
    □ Performed Occurred at the () th depression: excessive negative pressure consumption
  6. Did it feel like the brakes did not operate just after the engine was started?
    □ The brakes did not operate after some driving. Approx. () min after starting Approx. () km after driving
    □ Braking just after starting the engine Was the engine warmed up? () Yes () No
    □ How long was the vehicle parked until the engine was started? Approx. () h
    □ How many times were the brakes applied after the engine was started? () times
