DTC U0131-00: Communication Error With Electric Power Steering (EPS) Control Module

U0131:00 (BCM) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location	Communication error with EPS control module
Detection condition	The body control module (BCM) cannot receive a CAN signal from the EPS control module.
Fail-safe	Sets to default signal.
Vehicle status when DTCs are output	• Not applicable
Repeatability verification procedure	1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
Inspection/action procedure	• Proceed with the inspection/action in the order from Step 1 below. • After part repair or replacement, perform the repeatability verification procedure and perform a DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .) - If the DTC inspection indicates the same DTC again, go to the next step. 1. Perform the malfunction diagnosis according to the troubleshooting procedure for the multiplex communication system.
