DTC U0402-68: Error Signal Received From TCM/Selector Lever

U0402-68: (VCM) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location	Error signal received from TCM/selector lever
Detection condition	The vehicle control module (VCM) receives a shift position error signal from the TCM/selector lever.
Fail-safe	(See DTC TABLE [VCM] .)
Possible cause	Internal malfunction related DTCs are stored in the following modules. Vehicle control module (VCM) (See DTC TABLE [VCM] .) Body control module (BCM) (See DTC TABLE [BCM] .) DTCs are stored in the TCM/selector lever. (See DTC TABLE [TCM] .) TCM/selector lever malfunction (Refer to CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [EV6A-EL, EV6AX-EL] , or CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [GW6AX-EL] in service information.) (Refer to SELECTOR LEVER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.) Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built into body control module (BCM)) (Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure	Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
System wiring diagram	Not applicable
