POSITIONING FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE (POSITION MEMORY SYSTEM) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	VERIFY ALL SYSTEM DTCs Perform the quick check. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT POSITION MEMORY SWITCH FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to POSITION MEMORY SWITCH INSPECTION in service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to POSITION MEMORY SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
3	INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INSPECTION in service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
4	INSPECT NOTIFICATION AND WARNING SPEAKER FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to NOTIFICATION AND WARNING SPEAKER INSPECTION in service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to NOTIFICATION AND WARNING SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
Repair completion verification 1	VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. Has the malfunction symptom been eliminated?	Yes	Complete the symptom troubleshooting. (Explain contents of repair to customer)
Repair completion verification 1		No	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1. If the malfunction is not resolved, replace the position memory control module. (Refer to POSITION MEMORY CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
