Outer Mirror Glass Installation

NOTE:
  • Installation of the outer mirror glass holder can be facilitated by warming the outer mirror glass holder to approx. 50°C {122°F} to approx. 60°C {140°F} using a heat gun.

CAUTION:
  • Be careful not to overheat the outer mirror glass holder, as temperatures higher than 60°C {140°F} could deform it.
  1. To facilitate installation of the outer mirror glass, orient the power outer mirror in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure below.

  2. To prevent scratches or damage, apply protective tape to the positions shown in the figure below.

  3. Connect the heated outer mirror connectors. (With heated outer mirrors)

  4. Connect the auto-dimming outer mirror connector. (With auto-dimming outer mirror)
  5. Connect the blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning indicator light connector.
    CAUTION:
    • Lightly pull the blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light connector to verify that it cannot be pulled out of the blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light housing. If the connection is poor, insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into section A shown in the figure below, and connect the blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning indicator light connector.

  6. Push pins A and B of the power outer mirror in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure below.

    CAUTION:
    • If the power outer mirror moves when the outer mirror glass is installed, the support unit of the power outer mirror may be damaged. When installing the outer mirror glass, attach it so that the outer mirror glass and the power outer mirror are pressed together.
  7. Move the outer mirror glass in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure below to align the outer mirror glass with the power outer mirror.

  8. While pressing the outer mirror glass and the power outer mirror in the direction of arrow (2) above, attach pin C.
  9. Attach pins A and B as in Step  8.

  10. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
