Detailed Inspection C Of Vehicle: Notes

Verify the malfunction symptom according to the following table and perform the applicable troubleshooting procedure.

DETAILED INSPECTION C OF VEHICLE (CONVENTIONAL BRAKE SYSTEM) TROUBLESHOOTING REFERENCE

Primary cause Secondary cause Tertiary cause Related part Reference/measure
Vehicle malfunction Insufficient braking force on disc plate/brake drum Decrease in coefficient of friction of disc pads and brake shoes Heat fade (Phenomenon in which component inside friction material is vaporized by heat and friction coefficient of sliding surfaces decreases) Disk pads, brake shoes, disk plates, brake drums (See INSPECTION ITEM 1 .)
Ice fade (Phenomenon in which ice film adheres to sliding surfaces and friction coefficient decreases) Disk pads, brake shoes, disk plates, brake drums (See INSPECTION ITEM 2 .)
Water fade (Phenomenon in which water film adheres to sliding surfaces and friction coefficient decreases) Disk pads, brake shoes, disk plates, brake drums (See INSPECTION ITEM 3 .)
Remaining friction material is 0 mm Disk pads, brake shoes (See INSPECTION ITEM 4 .)
Oil adheres to sliding surfaces Disk pads, brake shoes, disk plates, brake drums (See INSPECTION ITEM 5 .)
ABS intervention too long ABS HU/Control Module, DSC HU/Control Module control malfunction ABS HU/Control Module, DSC HU/Control Module, ABS wheel speed sensor, ABS sensor rotor (See INSPECTION ITEM 6 .)
Accelerating while decelerating Accelerator pedal and brake pedal are depressed at the same time Inappropriate pedal operation Accelerator pedal, brake pedal (See INSPECTION ITEM 7 .)
Engine speed does not decrease Accelerator pedal and throttle valve sticking Accelerator pedal, throttle valve
Poor pedal return of accelerator pedal Accelerator pedal, floor covering (See INSPECTION ITEM 8 .)
Insufficient tire grip Insufficient remaining tire grooves Tire air pressure is not appropriate Tire performance Tire (See INSPECTION ITEM 9 .)
Vehicle is normal Low road traction Frozen road surface Wet road surface - (See INSPECTION ITEM 10  .)
Insufficient braking force on disc plates/brake drums Poor brake pedal depression force Inappropriate driving posture/seat position Poor brake pedal depression force Driver's seat (See INSPECTION ITEM 11  .)
Excessive weight - (See INSPECTION ITEM 12  .)
Excessive vehicle speed Initial braking vehicle speed is too fast Overspeed Initial brake pedal depression is delayed - Verification difficult Explain to the customer that there is no malfunction indicated in the vehicle inspection results
Other - Verification difficult Explain to the customer that there is no malfunction indicated in the vehicle inspection results
