Side Air Bag Module Removal/Installation [Two-Step Deployment Control System - Us/CANADA Spec.]

WARNING:
  1. Switch the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  3. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Disconnect the side air bag module connector.

  5. Remove the front seat back trim and seat back pad. (See FRONT SEAT BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove the clip.

  7. Remove the nuts.
  8. Remove the side air bag module.
  9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  10. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
  11. Verify that the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s and turns off.
