Active Air Shutter Inspection
NOTE:
- The integrity of the active air shutter cannot be determined from a single part. When inspecting the active air shutter, perform the following procedure.
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine on).NOTE:
- After several seconds have elapsed, the active air shutter fully open/closed position learning is completed.
- Using the M-MDS, display the PCM PID [AIRSHUT_CAL_STAT] and verify that the active air shutter fully open/close position learning is completed. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION
.) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (VIN Y)]
.) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (VIN M)]
.)
- If the active air shutter fully open/close position learning is not completed, perform a PCM DTC inspection and verify if a DTC is detected. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
- Display the PCM PID [AIRSHUT_POS_ACT] and the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .) (See SIMULATION INSPECTION .) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (VIN Y)] .) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (VIN M)] .) (See SIMULATION TABLE [PCM (VIN Y)] .) (See SIMULATION TABLE [PCM (VIN M)] .)
- Verify that the PID [AIRSHUT_POS_ACT] value changes according to the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] value when the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] is driven from 0 degrees to the maximum value.
- If it cannot be verified, replace the active air shutter. (See ACTIVE AIR SHUTTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
