INEFFECTIVE OPERATION OF A/C DURING ENGINE STOP (I-STOP SYSTEM - SKYACTIV-G) DESCRIPTION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

Troubleshooting item Ineffective operation of A/C during engine stop (i-stop system)
Description
  • The A/C airflow temperature is too high or low compared with the set temperature while the i-stop function is operating.
Possible cause A/C system malfunction 
  • DTCs are stored in the following modules.
    • PCM
    • Dash-electrical supply unit
    • Body control module (BCM)
  • Ambient temperature sensor malfunction
  • Cabin temperature of target vehicle cannot be calculated. (full-auto air conditioner)
    • Passenger compartment temperature sensor malfunction
    • Solar radiation sensor malfunction
    • Ambient temperature sensor malfunction
  • Climate control unit falsely recognizes MAX COLD of air mix door on driver-side
    • Driver-side air mix actuator malfunction
    • Driver-side air mix actuator position sensor malfunction
    • Driver-side air mix door link stuck

Troubleshooting item Ineffective operation of A/C during engine stop (i-stop system)
Description
  • The A/C airflow temperature is too high or low compared with the set temperature while the i-stop function is operating.
Possible cause A/C system malfunction 
  • DTCs are stored in the following modules.
  • PCM
    • Dash-electrical supply unit
    • Body control module (BCM)
  • Ambient temperature sensor malfunction
  • Cabin temperature of target vehicle cannot be calculated. (full-auto air conditioner)
    • Passenger compartment temperature sensor malfunction
    • Solar radiation sensor malfunction
    • Ambient temperature sensor malfunction
  • Climate control unit falsely recognizes MAX COLD of air mix door on driver-side
    • Driver-side air mix actuator malfunction
    • Driver-side air mix actuator position sensor malfunction
    • Driver-side air mix door link stuck
  • A/C relay malfunction
  • Magnet clutch malfunction
  • Refrigerant pressure sensor No. 1 or No. 2 malfunction
