Dust Cover Assembly Note

  1. Apply grease to the inside of the dust cover.

  2. Assemble the dust cover to the steering gear.
    CAUTION:
    • When assembling the dust cover, do not allow the grease to contact the connection area of the pinion shaft and the intermediate shaft. Otherwise, the connection area of the pinion shaft could loosen and cause abnormal noise or the pinion shaft could fall off.
  3. Verify that the dust cover does not rotate.
