Map Light Bulb Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
    CAUTION:
    • When inserting a remover tool into the gap between the map light lens and front header trim, the remover tool may contact the front header trim and damage it. Apply protective tape to the front header trim before removing the map light lens.
  2. To prevent scratches, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure.

  3. Insert a remover tool into the gap between the map light lens and the front header trim.

  4. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and remove the map light lens from the front header trim.

    CAUTION:
    • If there is oil or dirt on the surface of the light bulb, excessive heat will build up and the life of the light bulb will be shortened. If the light bulb glass area is touched, wipe off any dirt using a soft cloth dampened with detergent diluted in water (approx. 5 %).
  5. Remove the map light bulb.

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
