Vacuum Pump Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
  3. Remove the following parts as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
    • Air hose
    • Air cleaner cover
    • Air cleaner element
    • Fresh-air duct
    • Air cleaner case
    • Air inlet pipe
  4. Remove the battery. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Remove the bolts and nut A.

  6. Remove the bracket.
  7. Remove nut B.
  8. Pinch open the clamps using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hoses from the vacuum pump. (See VACUUM HOSE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  9. Remove in the order shown in the table.
  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.

1 Bolt
2 Vacuum pump
