Rear Heater Core Inspection
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Discharge the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT RECOVERY .) (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING .)
- Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Selector lever knob (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Console side panel (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front console (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Selector lever component (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Selector lever bracket (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Keyless antenna (center) (See KEYLESS ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Floor under cover No. 2 (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Floor under cover No. 1 (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Tunnel member (See REAR A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Strut bar (See REAR A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Insulator (middle) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
- Rear A/C unit (See REAR A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear heater core (See REAR A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY .)
- Inspect the rear heater core for damage, cracks, and water leakage.
- If there is any malfunction, replace the rear heater core. (See REAR A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) (See REAR A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY .)
- Inspect the fins for bending.
- If there is any bending, use the end of a flat head screwdriver to straighten the fins. If there is any malfunction, replace the rear heater core. (See REAR A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) (See REAR A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY .)
- Inspect the heater hose for deformation.
- Repair with pliers if there is deformation. If there is any malfunction, replace the rear heater core. (See REAR A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) (See REAR A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY .)
