Washer Tank Removal/Installation

NOTE:
  • If the procedure is performed with washer fluid in the washer tank, the washer fluid may leak out.

When performing the procedure, place a container under the washer tank to collect washer fluid, and perform the procedure.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the front bumper. (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL .) (See FRONT BUMPER INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the bolt.

  4. While pressing the washer tank bracket tabs in the directions of arrows (1) shown in the figure, pull the washer tank bracket in the direction of arrow (2) and detach it from the body.
  5. Remove the cap.
  6. Move the washer funnel in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure while pressing it in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, and remove the washer funnel from the washer tank bracket.

  7. Disconnect the connectors.

  8. While pressing the clip tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clip in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the clip tabs from the washer tank.
  9. Remove the clips.
  10. Disconnect the washer hoses from the washer motor.
  11. Pull out the washer hoses from hook A.
  12. Pull out the washer hoses from hook B.
  13. Remove the bolts.
  14. Pull out the washer tank hook from the vehicle.

  15. Pull out the washer tank pin and remove the washer tank from the vehicle.
  16. When replacing the washer tank, remove the following parts:
    1. Washer motor (See WASHER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Washer fluid-level sensor (with washer fluid-level sensor) (See WASHER FLUID-LEVEL SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    NOTE:
    • If the above parts are not malfunctioning, install the above parts to a new washer tank.
  17. Install in the reverse order of removal.
